Sharing God's Gifts
In 2014 Marshall UMC decided to tithe to non-profit organizations annually. Most are in our local community but also include those far away that our members love to support. Our current tithe amount is 10% of the church’s income. This is distributed to many local charities each year with much appreciation for their ongoing efforts to help our neighbors.
February Warm-Up Marshall
Each February Marshall UMC collects hats, scarves and gloves to share with our neighbors! Usually the Sunday closest to Valentines Day - weather permitting - these items will be distributed along main street with cards inviting people to "Take Me Home" and feel some warmth. If you can knit or crochet, this is a great way to share your talents with your community.
Food Ministry
We partner with Fauquier FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) and with Peas & Grace in The Plains to provide food and other supplies to families in need. There are tubs outside our double glass doors for drop off of any non-perishable food items needed.
